The short answer

In Creator Recorder there is no fixed time cap: you can record for as long as your device can hold the video. The real limits are practical - free memory while you record, free storage for the download, battery and sleep settings, and keeping the recorder tab open until the file is saved.

For a very long session, do not rely on a single take. Record in parts and download each part as you finish it, so one interruption can never cost you the whole video.

1. Fixed caps versus real limits

There are two kinds of recording limit. The first is set by the software: some recorders cap free plans at a few minutes per video or add a watermark to longer recordings. The second is physical: your device's memory, storage and battery.

Creator Recorder's free recorder has no fixed cap and adds no watermark - the free screen recorder with no time limit page covers the recorder itself. What it cannot remove are the physical limits below, which apply to every recorder.

2. What actually limits a long recording

3. Record a long video safely

  1. Plug the computer in and turn off automatic sleep for the session.
  2. Close apps and browser tabs you do not need, especially other video tools.
  3. Check free storage and empty space if it looks tight.
  4. Record a five-minute test, download it and note its size. Multiply up to estimate the full video and confirm you have room.
  5. Split anything longer than about half an hour into parts, with a natural pause between them.
  6. Download each part as soon as it finishes. The free plan keeps no cloud copy, so the download is your video.

Recording in parts costs you a pause between sections; recording in one take risks the whole session. For anything you cannot easily redo, parts win.

4. Make the parts easy to watch

Clean the start and end of each part with the trimming guide before publishing. If you upload one long combined video to YouTube, the chapters guide shows how to add timestamps so viewers can jump to the section they need.

Keep the parts numbered in their file names so the order survives the trip to your editor or channel.

Common questions

Is there a maximum recording time in Creator Recorder?

No fixed cap. The practical limit is your device: memory while recording, storage for the download and keeping the tab open until the file is saved. Split very long sessions into parts.

How big is a one-hour screen recording?

It varies with resolution, frame rate and how much the picture changes, from hundreds of megabytes to several gigabytes. Record a five-minute test, check its size and multiply by twelve for a one-hour estimate.

What happens if the tab closes before I download?

The unsaved recording is lost. Download each finished part straight away, and avoid closing other tabs while a recording is running.

Can I record an all-day event or overnight?

In principle, yes, but a single take that long is fragile. Record in parts of about half an hour, download each one, and keep the computer plugged in and awake throughout.
